For many years people have been seeking brothers in
intelligence in the Outer Space. But what if these brothers are close by and
live… in the sea?
Dolphins (Delphinidae) are a family of marine mammals from the Cetaceans order.
They are not fish but mammals whose independent development started about ten million years ago.
There are 36 dolphin species today, the majority of them oceanic, but there are species that live in fresh water, too.
The first dolphins arrived in Kuşadası Dolphinarium from Cuba in 1984.
They belong to the Tursiops truncatus species (the Bottlenose dolphins).
The universal global belief has always been that dolphins born in captivity are a rare event.
Owing to excellent conditions and professional care provided by the team of Kuşadası Dolphinarium, dolphin births are common here.
Currently, the Dolphinarium has five dolphins – two male and three female – Kimbo, Dolly, Poppy, Yoanna and Bimbo, the last two being born in Kuşadası Dolphinarium.
